A clean slate
Slate roofs are beautiful. They are also functional, fireproof, and, if maintained properly (slate needs to be serviced every three or four years), remarkably long-lasting.
This is where Maintenance Aid comes in.
- Slate repair
As part of our slate roof servicing, we replace and repair broken tiles. We also replace damaged malthoid/slatex (the underfelt), which has a limited shelf-life, and if not serviced regularly, can be the cause of costly roof leaks.
- Slate waterproofing
We also offer slate roof waterproofing. Often, malthoid gets damaged by the sun. To shore up the leaks and/or protect against future leaks, we do a complete reroofing – removing any old, ineffective waterproofing, and replacing it with a new waterproofing system and new malthoid. We also repair/replace any broken or cracked tiles when we put them back.
